Web font (woff2)

To use a specific font on your website, you need to include font files. If you’re using a Mac or Windows computer, you may be familiar with this process from installing so-called TTF files. There’s a similar method on the web. To let the browser know which font to display, you need to include a font file in the website’s configuration. But for the web, it’s not a TrueType Font (TTF)—it’s a different format: the so-called Web Open Font Fformat, or woff2 for short.

In the past, it used to be quite tricky to get a browser to load and display a custom font outside of the system fonts. These days, nearly all browsers are able to render these fonts correctly.
